I think that the rule that is violated the most is having an excuse to miss work. I think that the car excuse would be the most common. As an employer I would not fire the employee the first few times that it happened but if it became a constant issue then I would have no other choice but to fire them. They would become more trouble than good. I see students use that excuse all the time for being late to first period. I even know a teacher who uses that as an excuse frequently.
